Slovenia’s Push for E-Invoicing: New Draft Law Targets 2026

Slovenia took a decisive step towards digitizing financial processes by introducing a draft law proposing a B2B e-invoicing and document exchange. The draft is currently under review by the National Assembly, and if approved, the new requirements will be enforced starting June 1, 2026.

The legislation aims to cover both domestic and cross-border B2B transactions while excluding B2C invoices from its scope.

Accepted E-Invoice Formats

The draft specifies three formats for e-invoice exchange:

  • e-SLOG: The national standard of Slovenia

  • EN 16931: The standard format recognized by the European Union

  • Other international formats mutually agreed upon by the transacting parties
